Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Didn't him and Julian have to go off in Tony Gale's testimonial?

It was Alvin Martin's testimonial. Julian had to be subbed or the ref would have sent him off.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Good job he went as we bought mark ward!
He could cross run and beat a man unlike Allen.
Good player and annoyed he went to them as he should have known better.
Inconsistent but a battler

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Rio- the only ones I can think of would have been Pat Holland or Jimmy Neighbour who both played quite a few games that season, although I'm sure Allen played more than either of them?
The one I felt sorry for was Paul Brush who thought he would be playing for Lampard, or even for Bonds who was almost suspended for fighting with Colin Todd

Did Gale have two testimonials then as I am pretty sure it was against the Micks?

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Nah - it was against Spurs NS. I wanted Julian to rip him to bits that day. Wasn't much of a friendly!

The one against the Republic of Ireland?

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Never really rated him tbh. Still racking my brains trying to remember who was injured for the cup final, as he took someone's place.

Very over-rated at both clubs.

Trier though.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
I thought he was a great player for us and remember being gutted when he left for 400k. I remember the home game against Southampton when he virtually run the whole length of the pitch and squared it for a tap in (Cottee, I think)

A Tottenham man now, for sure.

Didn't care much for Allen, to be honest.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
Loved him when he was with us a cracking player ... bad taste in the mouth when he went North... but over the years the grief has diminshed.... hasn't he been involved in the Hammers evening they do??

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
I put him in the same category as Jermaine Defoe, Freddie Kanoute, Michael Carrick and Scott Parker..........Cunts

For all his faults, I always admired Scott DUCKsberry for refusing to sell Craig Bellamy to the yids.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
He's sort of in between the two. Was good for us but when he fucked off, he didnt really matter after a while. It just fizzled out.

I think it was that '86 game when we was all in the chicken run and he was getting bacon and pork sausages lobbed at him as he went down the wing.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
He messed up big time, He had a choice between Liverpool and them and went there, probably because cousin Clive was at Tott.

Even now, I consider him one of them, at the league cup tie two years ago he was interviewed at half time with their blazer on.

Unnecessary really and tells you what you need to know.

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
I'd just come home from a fantastic holiday and bought a paper at the airport to catch up.I was horrified when he was pictured on the back with Chris Waddle, the other Spurs new boy...completely messed my mood up and thought back to when Peters 'defected'...MP said to me 'Well, you've got to get on' when I told him how gutted I was...making out that they're a bigger club..piss off ,do

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?

1) I'd forgotten he went Millwall 9i assue under Bonzo??)

2) He was names Tottenhanm player of the year 1991???? Ahead of Gascoiogne???

Re: Your opinion on Paul Allen?
He was always a crowd favourite and I, like many, was gutted when he went to Spurs. But my impression was that he never played as well for them as he did for us. The heart seemed to go out of his game. So I took some satisfaction from that.
